| 30 January 2010: Harper Pinnacles |
Trip PhotosTrip ReportThe day was one of those beautiful clear Canterbury mornings....at last !!!!! and a group of 13 of us set off for the Lake Coleridge area...held up by road works for about 1.2 hour but is was just lovely being out in the mountains...so the tramp was a bit later starting than planned. A long flat walk up the river valley and a shady spot was found for lunch 4 visitors on this trip. Not much to report about the trip except as we got to where two streams joined the water colour in one was crystal clear and the other quite murky...a couple of stream crossings and then the pinnacles...hoooray...just as the temperature was getting HOT. Some had to leave early due to soccer at AMI stadium but managed a quick divert at Lake Ida for a refreshing dip in the lake...great trip....great group..great leader...not such a great trip reporter. What else to say...see pics for details Trampers: Mike Newlove, Liz Tanner (scribe), Paul Focamp, Allen Growcott, David Cook, Stephen Starky, Leonie Rosenberg, Margaret Lovell-Smith, Karen Garrick, Caroline Solazzo, Bruce Cameron Alan Ross and Chris Curry (leader). -- Uploaded by Liz Tanner on 25 February, 2010 |
