15 June 1997: Southern Bays Walkway

Map N37

It was with much interest that I approached Steve's magical mystery trip. I mean, how often are we provided with such an opportunity?

We arrived at the Southern Bays Walkway on Bank's Peninsula and after overcoming the minor problem of not having the appropriate map by using our superior leadership skills, we ventured off into the unknown. We spent an enjoyable day walking around parts of the coastline and along the way Steve and Keith each picked up empty fishing boat containers and strapped them onto the back of their packs to take home. Despite the mystery of where we actually went and what the makeshift backpacks were to be used for, I for one, enjoyed the day out. Maybe that's the biggest mystery of all.
